  • Why are my old answers reported?

I used to be quite active in the Finance Section and part of my service to the community was directing people to a government sponsored site that allows you to pull your credit reports, free of charge, for up to 3 times a year.

This is a government sponsored site and the only place where you can, by law, get these reports without having to pay for it.

Now, years later, these answers are reported and erased and appealing it does not seem to make a difference.

    Why is that?

  • How often do you see your dentist?

I can't help but notice that seeing a dentist regularly is either the norm.... or something avoided like the black death.

Which category do you belong to.... and why?

  • Should we have a law that mandates veterinarian care for your pets?

This has been bothering me all day.

2 nights ago my neighbor pounds on my door in the middle of the night. She is an older lady and very sweet and we usually get along great. I find her in tears and hysteric at my front door. After consoling her I finally figure out what the reason is for this outbreak... she found her male cat dead in an upstairs closet.

According to her he had been aloof for a couple of days and she didn't think much about it and tonight she finally decided to look for him. She can't bare to look at him and I end up taking care of business.

I know this cat as an indoor cat. Overweight and huge. What I found in that closet was a stiff carcass barely weighing 5 pounds or so. He literally collapsed in front of his litter box.

I love my neighbor... and understand she might not have realized how sick he was.. but when you have a cat that starts peeing all over the place, loses weight and seems to be in a lot of discomfort for weeks on end.... WHY CAN'T YOU TAKE THAT POOR ANIMAL AND SEE A VETERINARIAN?????

Instead he had to endure horrible pain and misery and literally crawled into a hole and died.

I am just curious... what's your take on this?

  • what is the market value of Ramilla Batra pottery?

I came across one of her art pieces (small perfectly round ceramic ball, top is cut out unevenly and fits like a jigsaw puzzle, glazed inside about the size of a fist).

I bought it at a thrift store... the only thing I can find is that she specializes in Narikomi pottery.

The piece is one of a kind... I can see the artists finger prints in the hand crafted ceramic petals that are part of the piece. Verified her signature - it matches with the only other piece I found on E-bay. But that one was sold already in auction... still have no idea what her pieces are worth.

Anybody knows about the current value of her art?

  • Time change - how to handle on payroll?

    This is for CA.

Do we pay the "extra" hour on a graveyard shift that clocks in at 10 p.m. then changes the time at 3 a.m. to 2 a.m. then clocks out at 6 a.m. On the electronic time clock only the 8 hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. are counted, yet in reality the person worked 9 hrs.

P.S. My company usually pays for the extra hour... but how do other payroll dept. in CA handle this?

  • How to upgrade existing LapTop to be able to run Spore?

I love my LapTop even if it isn't a very known brand.

I have an Acer Aspire 5720.

My problem is that the processor - Intel Centrino Core 2 duo is a 1.66 GHz and the game "Spore" requires a minimum of 2.0 GHz.

Is there a way to purchase a better processor and have it put in my lap top?

  • What is the value of hair?

I donate my hair every couple of years so that it can be turned into wigs for cancer patients, etc. Mine grows extremely fast and I usually am able to donate at least 10 inches worth. I just did it again yesterday... While I never intend to make a profit doing this I still wonder what is the monetary value of my hair?.
