Don't know how to style myself... Help?
I know this is a really lame question but I can't style myself. I'm really bad at picking out clothes, whenever I go shopping I always bring someone with me to help me pick out cute stuff. Whenever I buy clothes on my own I always end up looking like a junkie or someone who just got out of bed. Does anyone have any tips on developing your own sense of style? I've kind of always been this way, I just don't pick out my own clothes... Is anyone else like this, or am I the only girl in the world who doesn't have a fashion sense (I LIKE fashion, I'm just not good at it lol)?
I just don't really care about how I look personally, but I like fashion.
@Я, don't you think it's ironic that someone working at Hollister would talk about individuality? lol thought it was funny.

awwe, thats cute, i used to be like that
but it just takes a matter of time to develop your own fashion
go shopping by yourself one day, and pick out the clothes that you like, like if you see something on a mannequin, and you like it, go ahead and try that outfit on.
and don't ask for anyone else's opinion. If you think you look great, then you do. It is personality, confidence, that makes a person like that.

I used to have the same problem but now i think i look very well. One of the things i started to do was looking at people who i thought looked very well. I would try to see what i liked about their style, and combine it with what i liked about other people's styles. Once you start to develop a sense of fashion than it will be easier to pick out your own stuff. Famous brands always look good. Try to stay in simple colors. Don't buy too many colored shirts. What i like to do is buy gray/black/white. Everything i have has to have at least 1 of these colors. Also ask around in the store for what you are looking to get. For example, if you like someone's jeans, describe to a worker how they look, and than try them on to see if they are your thing.
Hope it helps

If you walk into a store and see something you like, think about the things you already own in your closet. Think about how they will look together, and buy what you think is cute. Dont let other people pick clothes out for you. Mix colors you think are cute together and wear cute accessories with them :D Look up tips on outfits and stuff. Just try not to buy things and only wear it once.. Build confidence, dont care about what other people think of your style. Be crazy with your style and start new trends!

Lol.
I used to have the same problem.
Wat i found out i was troubled in was that i thought i only looked good in certian kinds of clothes. ie: skinny jeans, tshirts, converse. I mean, i still wear those ocasionally, but i've really expanded my wardrobe. I used to not own any skirts or dresses. I now own at least 6 of each. I really learned to mix and match cloths. Two cloths that i found look good together are brown and an off gray. Stores that might really healp you expand your closet are places like Forever 21, Wet Seal, and the Journys at my city's mall has some uber-cute jeans. :D
Hope i helped!

try looking online. A lot of online stores have a pre-made outfits feature that you can use. Just pick an outfit and it tells you all the stuff the model is wearing. I know that Pacsun does this, as well as other places. Also, if you see something you like, there is often a picture of the model wearing it with other things, which you can use for inspiration. Good luck!

you do no longer strike me because of fact the Hollister preppy variety. Are you greater of a resourceful man or woman? in line with danger skip with greater of a scene/rock chick look. i'm no longer announcing be a poser, if that basically isn't your kind, yet you basically provide me that rocker vibe out of your percentand stepping into that direction could in good condition you. you ought to take the pink hair right down to a prosperous auburn with some obtrusive blond highlights, decrease some uneven layers throughout which you would be able to play with, i think of that could compliment your skintone and valuable properties.

Style Depends On your Body Shape .....If its rectangle Shape ,hourglass shape ,pear shape or apple shape .............
First You need to Figure out what Kind of clothing Fits your Body Most ...
Second : What kind of Colors Goes with your skin
The rest is easy the rule for having a good style is "LESS IS MORE ..."
try to wear something simple but chic at the same time ......

seems like you'd rather follow the crowd rather than starting your own trends.
-EDIT-
yeah at least i can dress myself without my mom. working at hollister doesn't mean you're an individual? yeah, you definitely follow the crowd. if you were the list bit intelligent, you would know that hollister, along with A&F, has the most variety in clothing(even though many of them look similar & say hollister on it.)
but i don't blame you, hey- you can't even pick out your own clothes yet.

Ask yourself:
What colors do I like?
What celebrity fashionistas do i adore?
Could I wear this more than once?
Am I confortable in it?
You say you like fashion- what do you like about it?
I finally was able to answer all these questions and have found my signature style which is a mixture of classy, edgy, and casual.

magazines! not vogue or any of that crap their stuff is overpriced and not practical. just get seventeen or things like that. they really helped me out! their stuff is affordable and the tips they tell you are about things that normal people wear. ive really gotten my fashion together in this past year because of them and just look at the mannequins at the stores you go to they can be VERY helpful.
