DOes anyone keep track of a link between an HP Win Vista PC and its Win 7 upgrade CD Keys?

As in, if I used the HP program to get the Win 7 upgrade and got the CD with Vista to 7 upgrade files plus a CD key, could I use that CD key on another PC that will run Win 7? Will that conflict in any way with the PC with Vista whose proof of purchase was used to get the Win 7?

Update:

Thank you for answering both of my questions, Mark.

I would expect the Windows 7 DVD to only work on an HP computer, possibly on the same model (or on a small set of models). Microsoft puts a lot of restrictions on the manufacturers in the name of preventing piracy. And Windows 7 is big enough that it comes on a DVD, not on a CD; so the computer will have to have a DVD drive.

You can use the Windows 7 you get on another computer, assuming that you want to keep Windows Vista on your HP.
