Divorce was finalized - he still has 60 days to fight it?

My divorce was finalized and approved by a judge today. My ex had signed a waiver so I didn't notify him of the court date as my lawyer advised me not to. Now he is upset (I think he will do everything in his power to contest every sentence in the decree just to make my life hell), and says that he still has 60 days to fight it. Is this true? How does that work?

I was so relieved thinking my nightmare was over for sure...now i'm not so certain...

Well, it's true that he does have 60 days to contest it, but in reality, it's over with. The 60 days is for something that he can come up with that was deliberately hidden and would have affected the outcome differently. He needs damned good reason to appeal it, not just because he wants to cause trouble. (It would backfire and cause HIM trouble without exceptional cause.)

Mainly it means you shouldn't remarry for the next 60 days, JUST IN CASE. But even then, a snowball has a better chance in hell than he does.

If it was finalized how can he fight it? Ask your lawyer to confirm. One phone call.
