Why does society frown more upon black-white dating than white-non-black minority dating?

Hmm that's true, I've never noticed that. But hey, you know what, it could just be like that around where you live. If theres not a lot of blacks around where you live, then white people aren't going to most likely 'mix' and really socialize or devolp a relationship with them. It's the same with other cultures too.... Maybe white people like to date indians, latinos, asians, etc., because of their rich culture and positive attitude towards life. I'm sure some people are scared off from dating blacks just from the generalization the mass media's given us about gangs and drugs. But these are just my guesses. Overall I guess white people, or people in general, are ignorant of others...don't take the time to get to know anyone, i guess? Goood question though..

We are to opposite skin tone color of all the other races. This doesn't include bi-racial or some multi-racial people. I'm multi-racial and I have a tough time understanding the issues with race. Even the black race has (skin tone) issues within it.

Light skin toned women are treated differently than dark skin toned women. It's little bit more acceptable for a black man to date a white woman. For some reason, society sees the black man as trading up. If, a white man dates a black woman, society sees him as slumming it.

Personally none of it makes much sense to me. I believe love has nothing to do with race.

Because not everyone loves my beautiful, dark skin. And all those other groups break their backs trying to be white. So of course they are more accepted. But it's really not that big a deal is it? By the way, I am not stigmatized, I am not the one with the problem. My haters are:)

In this country, it's because of our tumultuous history. Blacks have been considered the lowest class of Americans, in this country, for the overwhelming majority of it's existence. For most of our history, whites were higher class and blacks were lower class by virtue of race alone. Other races were considered lower class than whites too, but blacks were the lowest on the totem pole.

In European countries, the white/black stigma isn't as bad. In some countries, there are other races who are hated much more than blacks. In Germany, it's the Turks; in Australia, it's Asians.

Its because people who think like that, view blacks as on the bottom of the totem pole, so to speak. Many with that view were raised in a society that taught them that blacks are inferior in every way. They do not have that same history with the newer groups of minorities in the States.

I've noticed that too and it's true. But if people were more open to life and all the different people in it, this would not be like that. We're all people! We all have feelings. What should matter is that they love each other nothing else.

When people think they are better than you, it means that they are really jealous of you. Rise above and do your own thing. There is evidence to support the fact that black men have the power, if not, why do we now have a neegroid president. Be concerned with the women who you are dating, not all non black women's family are ignorant.. In fact a lot of them are quite advanced with their thinking.

I don't know and I don't care. Screw society. They don't pay the bills, they don't keep you warm at night, they don't love you...so their opinions is not worth ANYTHING.

You know what I really don't get though? Is why in every country they have this "rule". It's:

"Date within' your own race. Maybe white. NEVER black."

I don't understand how black people are automatically thrown under the bus in other countries.

I mean it doesn't bother me, but I am interested in the cultural implications of it.

Because of a long history that is changing though. I experience progress in my day-to-day life.

Thats just white men.

When I date outside my race I get so much discouragement from both white guys and Asian girls.

I can say that I have even learned to dislike and avoid them now.
