Should I go National Guard or Army Reserve?
Im in the 10th grade and i plan on joining the army next year and go to basic after my junior year anyway i was wandering what would be better to do my plan is to go active i get out of high school but my question is could i do the guard or reserve while im in highschool then switch to active or could i go active while im in highschool i know i want get deployed or anything but could i still do it because that would be better than going guard or reserve then worry about switching over to active

If you want to go active...wait and go active. There is NO guarantee either the reserves or Guard will allow you to switch over when you want before your 6 year commitment is up. Most likely they will, but there are no guarantees.
But as a rule of thumb the Guard will have better benefits than the reserves. In addition to all of the federal benefits you get as a Reservist and Guardsmen...you will also get additional State benefits that a Reservist will not ..and these can be substantial..such as 100% tuition at State Universities...

wait. be a kid while you can, cuz once you go to basic over the summer, you'll wish you havent and you wont even like it
