Photo gallery on website: how to achieve this look?

Question

I am working on a website for a local photographer, and here is what I have so far: http://wwwcolegreerphoto.com.  I would like to design something a little more creative and organized for the gallery, as there are many more photos and I don't want viewers scroll so much.  :) 

I have liked websites I have seen with the scroll bar with the images on one side and when the user clicks the image, in enlarges in the other column.  

Any creative ideas or online tutorials?  Thanks in advance.
