dell inspiron ubuntu 9.10 wireless problems?

I'm new to Ubuntu and currently using the 9.04 version. I'm having problems getting my wireless to work with ndiswrapper. I've blacklisted and got the .inf file.

I use the the windows wireless driver window. Every time i get the driver in the window to install I click install and it says "unable to see if hardware is present". When I click ok it says yes to hardware present. Can anyone help me? I dont know if there is a post already or not looking for help and direction

If you were installing Ubuntu on your system just to test out the O.S., I would highly recommend you use software virtualization through a virtual machine. This allows you to run another O.S. on your current O.S. They utilize all the hardware that your main O.S. recognizes (optical drives, usb ports, wireless card, gpu, mouse, etc.). Its the easiest way to test out software, use software that are incompatible with your current O.S, or just have two O.S's.

Two of the best free ones out there are VirtualBox and VMware player. Just download and install the software, then install your operating system on it. I've used VMware player to install Windows XP on my Windows 7. Virtualization can be a little demanding, so I would not recommend it if you don't have at least a 1.6 GHz Intel Core Solo processor (or equivalent), 3 GB of RAM, and 10 - 25 GB of free HDD space per virtual OS. Also, I wouldn't recommend running a lot of applications on your main O.S. while running a Virtual O.S (Don't play Crysis on your Windows 7 while running Call of Duty 4 on your virtual Windows Vista).

If you were using Ubuntu as a main or primary O.S. or you do not comprehend what I said, then ignore this answer.
