dell inspiron 1525 ubuntu 9.10 wireless problems?
I'm new to Ubuntu and currently using the 9.04 version. I'm having problems getting my wireless to work with ndiswrapper. I've blacklisted and got the .inf file.
I use the the windows wireless driver window. Every time i get the driver in the window to install I click install and it says "unable to see if hardware is present". When I click ok it says yes to hardware present. Can anyone help me? I dont know if there is a post already or not looking for help and direction

hi there
this isnt suprising...ubuntu linux may be the most popular of all linux distros however its driver support is still pretty poor especially when it comes to wireless devices
however i managed to get a acer aspire 8460 laptop wirelessly connected to my bt home hub using ubuntu....allthough it took me a while to get it working, however in my case i had to flick a button on the front of the laptop which then turned on the wireless adapter and all avalible wireless connections showed up
if you have any similar button or switch on your wireless device try this ...and for a excellent tutorial on ubuntu wireless connection go to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/...
good luck and happy xmas !
