What does Schnitzbrot (German Christmas Bread) look like.?

Question

My husband is half German and we are looking for traditions to share together for Christmas that we can past on down to our kids. I have been to some European bakeries but im not quite sure what I am looking for. it is something I would like to make from scratch in the future but I need some help this first time.
Any one have a picture or two?
