PERMANANTLY remove hardware from windows XP?
I own a Dell Dimension E310 (3100) running XP SP3, it has an integrated video card and I need to remove it from my system... I uninstalled it in hardware manager and now it keeps showing up in the found new hardware wizard... there is no option to disable it in the BIOS, Is there any way I can stop XP from detecting it... thank you!!!
I don't mean physically remove it... I mean stop windows from recognizing it and taking up RAM: FYI: ANYTHING RECOGNIZED BY THE COMPUTER TAKES RAM, I just want to uninstall it and stop windows from showing the found new hardware wizard...anyway to do that??? ALSO: My secondary graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce 6200, If there is any way to use the integrated with this...HOW???

Okay.. you can't remove it permanently, because you haven;t actually removed it.
So whatever. its there. and its installed, You can keep it from using any resources by disabling it in device manager. Not uninstall... disable... Right click -> disable. From device manager.
You will want to make sure it is fully installed before you disable it, so the computer knows what to disable...

The word "integrated" means that it is "built in" and cannot be removed.
If you have the option to install a video card, then usually the integrated will be not used and the video are will be used instead. Sometimes, there are options that allow you to choose between the two. And sometimes it is automatic, so the integrated video is shut off when the video card is installed.
You need to have some way to see your display, so you cannot disable the integrated, because then you wouldn't have a display.

Why are you trying to disable the integrated graphics?
Unless you have a separate video card, this would prevent you from displaying anything on your computer sceen.
If you do have a separate graphics card, there is no reason to disable the integrated graphics as it should not conflict with your add-on card, and in some cases the system can actually make use of both GPUs for even better graphics performance.

You cannot remove the hardware itself, as it's integrated.
Generally you should be able to do it through the Device Manager. Just open up the video interface section, select the integrated video and right-click/disable.
That should stop it conflicting with any hardware you have installed.

You can't remove an integrated video card, short of ripping it out of the motherboard.
If you want to install a new video card, you can install it without disabling the integrated one.

its an integrated video card. it cannot be removed but one thing you can do is buy a separate video card from nvidia or ati and install that and use it as the default graphics card. but as far as removing the one you have, it cannot be done

I don't understand why you need to remove it, and are you sure there isn't an option the BIOS?
