Xbox Live Mic broken, short term fixes?

Can I use a cell phone microphone or earset for live?

    Yeah you can, as long as it fits in that little hole

    If you mean broke apart, its done for lol. But I'm guessing you mean it isn't recognized by the controller. Mine has done this a couple of times. What you do is turn the conrtoller off and unplug the mic. Then turn the controller on and replug the mic in, make sure it is swithced to mute before you plug it in though. If this doesnt work, repeat, but have it off mute (I can't remember which way I had mine). This did the trick for me. Otherwise, yes, get a new one.

    or just buy a new one but a mic is a mic if it fits
