Windows XP Help!! Black screen, then no mouse...?
Everytime I start up my computer it will go to the windows screen no problem. After the windows screen it goes to complete black for about half a minute. Then is starts to load my desktop and everything seems normal, EXCEPT, I have no mouse cursor.
I've let my computer sit, i've restarted it multiple times, I unplugged and replugged my mouse, I even changed my mouse, and no success. Anyone have any ideas?

Try this
(EXACTLY as written below)
Shut down the system completely
by removing the power cord from the unit
and if the is a laptop remove the battery
Next unplug the mouse
Now wait for approx 5 minutes
Power up the system with the mouse unplugged
When your desktop appears and all is running stable
Plug the mouse cord back in
Windows should find your mouse and notify that
New Hardware was found
Next try to Restart the system to
verify all is OK with the mouse now
If this does not work try
updating the mouse Drivers using
Device Manager from Control Panel
If still No Joy try
reinstalling any software that
came with mouse
as in a CD
