Is it possible for a guy and a girl to just be really close friends?

In rare cases.

I am a man, and as such know how we think. i have many so called "Close female friends" and i am friends with them. But the entire reason we're so close is because we're always talking. The reason we're always talking is because I have feelings for them and want to know more about them in hopes to eventually get to date them. I have found that many men have this same reasoning for being close friends with women, though there are a few straight men that i've found that just want to be friends with woman. but these are few and far between. So in conclusion yes you can have a close male friend but odds are 90% of the time he wants to be more than that. My suggestion would be to just find a gay man to be friends with. He will not want to be more i promise you.

There are plenty of examples of this. It takes a ridiculously low mentality to believe that men and women cannot have a non-sexual relationship with each other. Some people don't have any control over their hormones so it doesn't work for them, but for the majority of people, it's definitely possible. Plus, studies have proven that people generally have greater platonic affinity with the opposite gender. Not always the case, but it's quite regular I suppose.

Yes, my best friend is a guy. Usually you can tell if they're your best friend because you go to them when you need help, and they help you. Someone you can just hang out with. Etc.

So, yes, you can be best friends with the opposite sex and not be "together". You have nothing to fear.

it is. often when a guy and girl are that close together, some feelings start to change and they become more fond of eachother, but i have 2 best friends and they are male. i am female. of course, one of them i have a crush on.. but we're just really good friends. and the other one, i do not have a crush on, but we're really close. its possible.

For me yes. It depends on the girl. I am 13-don't want a boyfriend. I am weird I want guys to have crushes on me, but I don't want a boyfriend yet.

I think it definitetly is possible. Although...... I have a friend that im in the same situation with. Whenever we hang out he always thinks its sometihng more. So, if your friend starts thinking it's more, just tell them how it is. :-) good luck
