If I enlist in the US Army as a 68W...?

If I enlist in the army as a 68W (Health Care Specialist, i.e, Medic) and I go through jump school, could I still try out for the RIP (Ranger Indoctrination Program) or would I have to be an 11B (Infantryman) and then jump school and then RIP?

You want to be an Airborne Ranger that is a Medic, is this what you are asking?

Well, rangers need medics in their unit (though they can always attach someone from another unit).

Airborne is no problem, anyone can be airborne if you can pass the three weeks (though air assault is a better feat in my opinion). I am not sure about becoming a ranger as I am a female, thus I cannot be a ranger, so I have no reason to look into it.

My good friend Google has told me it's for SGTs and below that are going to the 75th Ranger Regiment... Here's what I got from Go Army

You have to get an 80 in each event for your PT test, which I hope you can accomplish.

    Good luck.

i recently referred to as the recruiter and he stated i might could wait until January to deliver (it is that if I enlisted the following day). the army is crowded and that they do no longer actual desire human beings (i think)... i might start up the enlist technique quickly so which you will have the skill to flow to common education as quickly as you graduate... so a ways as your mothers and fathers flow, it is your existence. sometime you would be on your individual anyhow, so do what you desire, no longer your mothers and fathers. And once you come back from common education i'm helpful all and sundry would be pleased with you, you would be sturdy and seem first rate. i might tell them you desire to connect because of the fact you desire to help human beings, be something greater suitable, and for the adventure. the army probable isn't all that exciting, yet i'm helpful you will meet quite a number of friends and experience stable approximately what your doing.

Its called RAP (ranger assessment phase). You don't even need to be airborne qualified to go to ranger school (benning.army.mil/rtb/RANGER/ commanderletter.pdf) You do need to be an E-4 or above...and there are other hoops to jump through, but it is possible to go to ranger school. Look into a pre-ranger school, its not required, but you will be much better off with it...and HRC gives preference to successful completion when they select ranger candidates. Get MOS qualified..get jump school in your enlistment contract...it is preferred to have jump school first...then go to the pre ranger school....then ur golden...good luck!
