The penalty will be in the form of a surcharge to your taxes if you fail to purchase Obamacare. If you decide that you and your family deserve the best insurance, a Cadillac Policy, you will be charged a surtax for buying that as well.

From an email I received from the Representative of my district in California, businesses will be paying a 58% tax rate.

These liberals are not aware of the fact that not only will they be required to pay the first $5,000 ($10,000 per family) of any of the insurance policy they purchase. Add the cost of the insurance and the deductible that they will have to pay you can easily see that the insurance is still to expensive even if you received the policy for free you can look at the policy cost to average $416.16 per month. This disaster of legislation is only beneficial if you never get sick and if that happens you don't need the insurance anyway.

Also they don't know that Obama is doing away with the Bush tax cuts and going back to the tax rates of the Clinton administration.

Under the Bush tax rates a single person making $28,400 would pay 15% in taxes, under the Clinton/Obama tax rates that same person would pay 27% in taxes. So much for his promise that those making less than $250,000 not seeing an increase of taxes.

We are not likely to go to jail for not purchasing health insurance, what we are likely to see is tax liens on our property.

I can assure you that the justice system will be very busy handling all of the court cases that will be filed challenging the constitutionality of this bill that not only includes constitutional violations but is in a direct ignoring the will of the people that congress has sworn to uphold.

Comparing car insurance is a stupid comparison. Let me explain. If you do not want to have car insurance, you can choose not to drive. You do not have this choice in regards to health care. You tell me, what is the fine for not driving and not not having car insurance? Now what is the fine for not driving and not having health care insurance ?

You see there is a IF for car insurance but not for health insurance.

There is also, in California, a way to legally drive without having car insurance and that is to post a bond with the state.

Yes, a lot of people just don't want to have health insurance. The majority of people in CA, where I live that don't have health insurance are households that make between $75,000 and $85,000 a year.

That is not a guess, there was a study done on it about 6 months ago.

You can't force people to buy anything they don't want so yes they will refuse and they have that right. Rights come with responsibility and if people want to be responsible for themselves without health insurance than that is their right. Most were against it in the first place.

Most of us have literally no choice. We are watching as a half-million people lose their jobs EVERY WEEK. The 10% unemployment number doesn't even count those who have already exhausted their unemployment benefits and still are out of work, meaning that the percentage of unemployed people in America is closer to 19% or higher.

When you have no job, no income, and no prospects for a job, and your landlord is threatening eviction, your electric was just shut off and the phone is next, and you don't even know where the next meal is coming from with two or three kids to feed, THERE IS NO CHOICE BUT JAIL.

If you ask me for $25.00 I will not be able to give it to you. Insurance premiums promise to be more than double what they are now, because otherwise the companies cannot afford to stay in business with all the extra mandates the govt is putting on them like forcing them to accept pre-existing conditions, no caps on medicines or treatments, no out of pocket, etc.....SO EVEN IF MY PORTION IS ONLY 25.00, I AM ON MY WAY TO JAIL AND SO IS MY HUSBAND BECAUSE MY KID EATS BEFORE ANYBODY ELSE GETS MONEY, PERIOD.

I'm not sure that you quite understand what's going to happen. Nobody will force you to buy anything, it's just going to come out of your taxes. If by "Refuse to buy" you mean "refuse to pay tax" then that's it's only right that you go to jail as a tax dodger. If everybody refused to pay their taxes then there would be no money for schools or roads, or for the army. People who refuse to pay their taxes give the IRS more power, power which they use to harass the rest of us.

If everybody refused to pay their taxes then Al Quaeda cold just walk right in and kill thousands of people because there wold be no police, or army, or national guard.

Most American's either have their own private health care and so won't be effected by this, or they are too poor to have heath care in which case they will get free Obama care. It's not as if they are going to force you to sign up to an expensive premium policy, is it.

Besides, most of the free world already does this. Just look at the Israeli, and the British, or the Japanese. They all have a compulsory health care system, and they absolutely love it. They'd fight to the death to keep it. It's cheaper than private health care as there are no share holders to pay. When you buy private health care, the first 20 cents of every dollar that you spend goes on admin and profits. That won't happen with Obama care. There won't be fat cat hospital directors driving around in imported sports cars paid for by your premiums.

I think that there may be a few fools who don't understand what's happening who will try make symbolic protests, but most of them will be people who wouldn't be effected anyway. They won't go to jail as that would give too much ammunition to anti health care news networks like FOX. They' get a ticking off, and that's it.

I don't know about you, but I think that it's criminal that Ameirca is the richest and most powerful country on Earth, yet it has a child mortality rate equal to Eastern Europe, and has so many people who are to poor to have health care plans.

What message does this send to the rest of the world. "He, look at us, we can afford billion dollar tanks and sky scrappers, but our kids are still dying from preventable diseases because thir parents can't afford to buy them quality meds"

Even if this were a possibility, we are not that far along yet. The insults to our Liberty are not yet evident to the average person.
