NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs?

Did anyone hear anything about those NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs? I have a 2000 dodge neon 86k miles and was considering getting them for it. I was just wondering if they're any good, if price is any indication they're $6.99

Also does anyone have any recommendations for wires, typically i just get the cheap autolite ignition wires but i'm open to suggestions if somebody feels there are better ones out there.

Thanks,

Jim

Irridium plugs are the pinnacle of plug innovation. They allow a large flash front, the material is excellent for conduction and cooling and is highly resistant to errosion and wear, the transient energy transfer is instanteous. however there is likely not much to really be gained over a factory plug that has been determined to provide the best service. aside from zero wear on the iridium the platinum and copper plugs offer excellent service. Its your extra 20 dollars, spend em as you wish.who knows you might see a performance or fuel saving with these hi-tech plugs with your engine combination, I have not..good luck

NGK plugs are usually used in import vehicles. Iridium will be able to withstand higher combustion chamber temperatures as opposed to resistor and platinum tipped plugs. As far as what plugs to put in your neon, Champion is the original plug for the vehicle. I suggest checking out E3 plugs though they are also $6.99.
