You can keep your steering wheel controls. Here's how Pac- Audio makes interfaces that are directly connected to you aftermarket radio. Which adapter you use depends on the brand of radio you buy. Or you can buy a universal one (SWI-X) which has infra red LED that has to be mounted infront of the radio instead of being connected with all the other wires in back. Here's the link. Scroll all the way down and you will see "steering wheel control interfaces" for category. http://www.pac-audio.com/productSearch.aspx?Make=P...
you will also need some other parts dash kit, antenna adapter and more importantly a interface module that will tie in to you vehicles "data" wire keeping the car from wiggin out aswell as retaining your door chime module.

I'm not sure if this helps or not but my boyfriend put an aftermarket stereo in my '96 Cadillac Deville a few years ago, and it drives me absolutely nuts when I'm driving home at night and I can no longer turn down the brightness on my stereo display from the steering wheel!(and of course the stereo doesn't even have that option...)
He told me on the drive home tonight he's seriously thinking of grabbing an original Cadi stereo out of the scrapyard, so that he can use the steering wheel controls again.
So beware of that mistake that we learned firsthand from, it really blows!

Check out this link, http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=85... a friend bought one off ebay for around $40 and it worked perfect. You can also set the steering wheel buttons to do whatever you want...ex. volume button on steering wheel could be programmed for track change. Pretty cool and not too expensive.

not normally.......they so make some expensive adapter kits......but the last one i priced for a guy was around 1200 bucks(in addition to cost of radio and other components) and would only do volume and on and off.....
so in most cases it's not worth it.......but if u want one pick ur radio brand and call up there tech/info phone line (will b like 3 bucks a minute)... good luck

yep, you will need an adaptor that retains the use of the buttons, but you will also need a head unit thats has steering wheel inputs on it. kenwood makes a few like that and are very nice units for around $150 (not sure on retail price on those)

I bought a kenwood cd player for my truck and it came with the adapter to hook ur steering wheel control up.I would just look around for that. I only paid $200 for my cd player and its great!
