A question for nurses...how do I make a good impression with the nurse I'm about to shadow?
Since I'm considering nursing school, a family member has set me up with a nurse friend who'll let me shadow her during rounds. (She's a nurse anesthetist as far as I know). I'm planning on doing my "homework" and having some questions for her when i get there. But if a non-nurse were following you around on the job, what would you want them to do and not do?
(For all you wise guys who wanna give me joke answers, at least make them funny enough to make me laugh)

do not distract her while she is doing her rounds. reserve your questions after the rounds.take down note of the questions so that you will not forget to ask her. do not touch the things like the needles, or bandages... be sure not to look into the patients file because it is illegal.try visiting startanursinghome for more insights and information about nursing career and job opportunities.

While she's doing her rounds, take notes an then ask questions when all she's all done. You don't want to throw her attention off while she's dealing with medications. So make your notes and be patient and observe everything she's doing, this is not an easy job at all.

Just shut up, don't speak unless previously spoken to and if you must ask a question, make sure it is relevant to what the nurse did (ask questions later). Nuf said.
