will caldwell sit manning in the second half?

i believe manning will start.. but rex runs a pass happy defence - hes got a probowl corner and loves to bring the blitz..potentially endangering manning so i couldn't see him starting the second half

If the the game is out of hand....then absolutely yes.

But I do see Peyton manning playing the whole time only so he can continue to maintain his timing and rhythm

I think that depends on where the point score is at that point. Peyton Manning has gotten sacked less than any quarterback in the NFL this season. And for those who didn't see the Jacksonville game, Peyton Manning and the entire Colts team really want to go 16-0. I think you'll see a game plan a little similar to the one against Jacksonville. They'll play the players that are healthy. The Colts did play some injured players last weekend, but only to very limited roles and just enough to help them win the game. I think Caldwell takes a slightly different approach than Dungy. And I think it helps keep his players on their toes. The thing is, he doesn't want to commit to saying he'll have his players in their X amount of time or the reporters will ask, "Why did you put Peyton in there for longer." OR "Why did you put him in there for less time." This allows him to play his players as he sees fit. If they get a lead early and the game seems in hand, I think you might see him play Curtis Painter. But I think one thing you can count on is that the Colts will play this game to win. I don't think they are going to lay down and keel over like the previous Dungy teams at the end of the season. I think Caldwell likes keeping his hurt player out as much as possible to allow them to recover for the play-offs, while keeping his healthy players playing and on their toes. He's playing to win, playing to keep his players at the top of their game and in that same routine that has kept them winning and 14-0, and he's keeping his injured players out so they can get healthy for their play-off run.

I think more of the key to winning in some regards may be how long Caldwell plays his starting defensive players. They were the key to the win against the Jaguars. Without the stops to those final two Jaguar drives that game would have been unwinnable even with Peyton Manning playing all game. And Curtis Painter is no slouch at back-up for quarterback. For those who don't know who he is, Curtis Painter was the quarterback at Purdue University under Coach Joe Tiller just like Drew Brees and Kyle Orton. Curtis Painter beat a number of both of their records, and in my opinion he had the strongest arm of the three. So those expecting the Colts to just fold if Peyton leaves the game might get a big surprise. Painter is no slouch.
