Just wondering .......How does one?

You receive a star if someone finds your question interesting, the have no point value and users can remove them----------To be a T/C You have to Answer in the categories you know the most about and get best answers. . Each user can be a top contributor in up to three categories.

The more you answer and get chosen as best answer, the better chance there is that you will get a T/C badge.

The T/C badge is awarded on the number of questions answered and best answers received by the user in a 3 week time frame, in a particular category. It is dynamic so you earn it or lose it depending on your recent participation in a certain section. There are no top contributors in polls and surveys or jokes and riddles.

T/C badges show up on your profile on monday's.

It is rumored that you need at least 10 percent best answers in your chosen category / 200 or more total points per week /30-50 answers per week in a single category to get a T/C badge but the actual percentage and the number of answers is Yahoo's secret.

Top Contributor - You have to have lots of Best Answers in a particular category. Not overall, but in that one category. I have seen people with a few thousand Best Answers, but aren't Top Contributors.

Star Receiving - Someone has to like your question and then they star it.

You have to answer a certain # of a questions in one category......like in health > diet and fitness. It can't just be health, but one specific category. The TC button is awarded on Mondays, and if you slack answering questions the following week, you will lose it most likely. I believe it also takes into account your best answers, too.

You receive stars when someone else stars your question.

You get a star when someone stars your Q.

You get a TC badge when you answer a certain amount of questions in a ccategory and you get BA in a time frame.
