Is it proper etiquette to respond to every greeting card?
If somebody sends me a paper Halloween greeting card in the postal mail, does etiquette require that I mail a response? Or is some other response required? Or, is a response not required?

You do not have to respond to a greeting card, though it might be nice. However, the exception to that is Christmas or holiday season greeting cards. It is generally considered good form to send a card to anyone who sends one to you. If it is your birthday, a wedding, the birth of a child, the funeral of a loved one or some other occasion that merits thank you cards, you should send a thank you card or note even to people who only sent a card or best wishes, as that may have been all they were able to do at that time.

No response is required, imagine thanking 80 plus people? You usually send greeting cards to them so it's reciprocated.
