What do you think would happen if a spiritually enlightened person hit their head and got amnesia?

(...Silly way of putting it, I know, I know!)

...Point being, though...do you think spirituality is...instinctual? (This may be the obvious answer to some, "Oh, well nothing would happen. It's instinctual") ...But, do you think spirituality would become, perhaps...stronger if one were to get "amnesia"...that is, if we were to forget our personal attachments/ roles/ our identities? If we had only our spirituality to focus on?

And do you think someone who is suffering from amnesia would have a greater chance of spiritual enlightenment (..due to their lack of "self")? Or is it too much of ...an artificial/forced way?

Or maybe you believe spiritual enlightenment is something that is destined to happen?

Thoughts?

Thanks! Peace and love!

He would have a strange sensation that his life is similar to a dream and that he needs to wake up pretty badly. So he would search a spiritual discipline that would allow him to awaken. He would release himself once more.

You see, the need to gain enlightenment is instinctual, so even after amnesia a spiritually advanced person would want to be enlightened. But the work invested in it differs at every stage. So, the seeker might look for a different area after amnesia. He might have lost his taste for a certain type and instead of Buddhism went for, I don't know, New Age type of spirituality.

All that provided that the fall didn't damage the functioning centers in the brain that allow any sort of functioning. With that condition satisfied, I stimulate that the enlightenment would recur. The particular experiences create knowledge, but the spiritual person seeks wisdom instead. For him it is not the amount of experience and quality that matter, but the way he learns from them. This way, in general, cannot be taken away from him.

Arguably, we have to relearn the process of gaining wisdom every time we reincarnate, if you believe in reincarnation of course. Either way, I think that the spiritual person would get there again, because he cannot live his life in any other way, regardless of how many memories are lost to him.

Memory is the storage of your life, he would lose complete knowledge and wisdom but if the amnesia is cured, and perhaps if he met the same circumstances that he once met that led him to his spiritual path, the chances are his enlightenment will revive again ( as well as other past memories that he once lost), its just that he has to face the burden of working all over again.
