  • A Greece travel question?

My wife and I want to take a trip to Greece and as we've never been before we'd like to know if anyone has recommendations on the best time to go for the best deal and is travelosity the best place to book for the best price? We'd like to stay in a central place close to a lot of good things to see where we can walk as we don't drive. If we need to pay a guide or someone for transport we plan to ask at the hotel. Should we get the hotel in the package deals we've been looking at or book it differently?

  • Melanoma/Skin Cancer?

Insurance here is really screwy about sending you to the dermatologist even if you're like me and have skin cancer in your family. So my primary care doctor checks me over and she's frozen off few things she thought looked questionable at all. I talked to a dermatologist recently and she said that melanoma looking moles can't be frozen off. She goes,"I hope it was just a mole and not skin cancer."

So I'm thinking if it was something bad, and my primary froze it off, is it now hidden from a dermatologist seeing it or will it grow back again to be seen? It's freaky to hear on those T.V commercials that you can die from a melanoma mole the size of a tack so that gets me thinking...

  • What does ending support for Windows XP entail?

OK, I understand it is about to be over, but so far in spite of all the hype I have been comfortable working with XP. I have nice enough AV program and spyware and such. Would the end of support affect me if I am mainly using my computer for work, go on FB, use Outlook Express, the basic stuff, no fancy downloads, streaming videos, movies, not messing with Media files too much. Would my computer really be vulnerable to an attack, in spite of all my AV programs, or is it another attempt by Microsoft to push me into buying something else I don't need?

I wouldn't like to switch, but will remain open to it so long as the danger is more serious when support ends than it is currently What do you guys think?

  • Regarding Landlord and TX Law?

My Mother in law lives currently in TX. She fell in a hole and broke her leg at her apartment complex. The hole was covered by thick grass right near the sidewalk and she didn't see it until she'd fallen into it. The landlord said he wasn't responsible when she tried to get him to cover her medical bills and lost work wages. She saw a lawyer and he agreed, saying if the landlord didn't know the hole was there, he wasn't responsible. I've heard that ignorance is no excuse and it was his property. He charges for lawn care and has holes covered by his lush grass. I just don't get how his not knowing frees him of responsibility. If I hit your car backing up the fact I didn't see it won't get me out of paying. It would just be a that's too bad, so how is it different for this guy or should she see another lawyer?

  • Protection from 2nd Hand Smoking(Other than Quitting!)?

I'm wondering if there is any sort of fan system or something out there that you can plug in that sucks 2nd hand smoke from the air?

My mother-in-law is with a smoker and he refuses to smoke outside. His 'attempts' to quit never work and he won't go for the vapor things. As my wife and I are unable to make him stop or make her leave him, we were thinking of doing something round about to help protect her from the smoke. Would welcome any suggestions.

  • About low vision glasses?

This buying glasses is entirely new as usually it's been covered by insurance so it was never a topic I needed to be knowledgeable about. I'm legally blind, and am currently seeing to getting new glasses in the near future. Last time I waited too long and needed them right away as I was getting eye strain. I didn't have time to research, so just went to a good eye doctor and got the glasses through him. The good eye doctor who understands various legally blind eye conditions is a necessity as obviously if you get an eye doctor who doesn't know what he's doing you run the high risk of getting really crap glasses that don't work well. SO I totally understand the import of a good doctor. I let him see to getting the glasses and both sets, one for regular stuff and one for when I'm on the computer, were over 500 dollars, not counting the 200 doctor visit itself. I see adverts all the time for places like eye-mart express that's supposed to be fast and cheap like 100 for two sets of glasses including frames. If you don't have eye-mart express in your area, you likely have other places that advertise good deals on glasses. I think lindscrafters does as well. Here's my question, finally. Will places like that really get us a better deal or will the much thicker glasses I need with A.R antireflection and such cost more everywhere? As if there's a better place to go I'll just pay for the appointment with the good eye doctor, then go for my own cheaper way to get the glasses. In many cases cheaper is just as good, but I don't want to risk my vision if it's not when it comes to glasses so I was hoping someone would know or have some experiences to share that would help to educate me on this matter. Thanks for any help or information.

  • Recording Shows with DVR or other devices(see below)?

Before I state my question I must say that I am not very technologically inclined. One could even quote Weird Al and call me technologically impaired. LOL. Anyway, my wife and I are too busy to buy cable as we're rarely watching T.V. We do get the basic free channels, though, and there are some shows in the evenings that we like to watch. Only we run into 2 problems. The first is that we'll want to go out somewhere and end up missing a show and the second is that sometimes even when we're home there are 2 or 3 shows on at once that we want to watch. Technologically impaired though I am I do know about DVRs. I don't know, though, if you have to have cable to make one work or to record 2 different channels at once. I always see them being advertised by the cable companies so didn't know if it only worked with cable or what. I do have a DVD player, but wondered what we need to record shows on different channels not having or wanting cable. If possible I'd also like the referred to device to be user friendly for people like me. LOL. Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Of anything paranormal and supernatural or magical?

I'm looking for older T.V shows that have a magical edge of any sort, or supernatural. I know of Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie and Night Stalker and Dark Shadows, adn they're all great, but I'm thinking there had to be more that being only in my early 30's I missed out on. I love that sort of thing and after being vexed that another supernatural like show I like, 666Park Avenue got 86-ed I thought I could find some old ones to watch that would be new for me. So anything from the 80's, 70's, 60's, and even before that I'd love to hear about and look for on net flicks. Thanks.

  • Where to buy Non Drowsy Benadryl?

I am open to buying it online or in a big pharmacy chain. We had it until recently for allergies, the only one effective for my wife, and now several pharmacies don't seem to carry it anymore. Any advice?

  • The Best Pillow You Ever Had?

I sometimes wake up with a head ache or pain in my shoulders. So after I checked into other possibilities, I began wondering if a pillow change could do the trick. Which in your experience is the best pillow to use for a good night sleep? Also have you heard about/used the one called My Pillow. What kind of experience did you have? I saw mixed reviews online about that and couldn't decide what to make of them so need your input.

  • Looking for Karaoke CDs?

Want to practice singing some songs and was looking online to order Karoake CDS, but didn't have much luck. The best site I saw wanted over 3 dollars per song. One that wanted a little less, 2 dollars, wanted you to spend 100 dollars. I didn't want that many songs! So I'm either looking for a good online ordering source for one off two things. 1 being where I can order a straight karoke CD of like Scorpions or Star Ship or Journey. or 2. Where I can make my own mix and order a mix CD picking by individual songs, just not for 3 dollars each or where I have to spend 100 dollars.

  • Clot or pinched nerve?

've seen that one can get a deep vein thromboses from cutting off circulation or an injury or other rough activity. I ,moved recently and then was also sitting in a sort of bad version of an Indian style pose for too long for several days in a row. My left glute has a very tinder spot on it that if pressed upon makes me dizzy. I do know pinched nerves can do this, but if it's something worse I could do damage icing it or treating it like a pinched nerve, so is there a way I could tell? If it helps I don't have to press very hard to feel the discomfort and my legs also hurt.

  • Wondering about a wireless connection?

Lately my internet provider Qwest merged with Century Link and then we started having problems. The connection would go in and out on each computer in turn, sometime simultaneously and sometimes only one of them would be affected. We had the same modem for like 4 years. Do modems get old, or do earthquakes effect the wireless connection in any manner or could the merger with a new company change something? Answers to these questions or alternative thoughts/sugesstions not mentioned here are highly appreciated. Just curious that it was Century Link's merger that coincided with the beginning of a problem. Could be just a coincidence of course so not stuck on it. Anyways, thanks for reading this and for your help.

  • Cheapest Play Station 3 or Xbox?

I would really like to try the newest Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 9 and I understand those are the only available systems that can play it. So I would like to know about PS3, Xbox 360 or alternative game systems that play MK. Do you know how to find the cheapest game system? I tried ebay, overstock.com and half.com. Any other sites that offer competitive prices for game systems? Thank you for your help.

  • Call from Abroad could not be completed...(see inside)?

My family lives in Israel and I'm in OR in the U.S. I recently moved to Grants Pass and they're unable to call me. I don't understand why as I've lived all over America both in large cities and small towns, and they've been able to reach all of them, but not this one. They claim the number doesn't work for them and that doesn't seem right. I've never heard of a number not being able to be reached internationally...any thoughts would be appreciated. Please nothing sarcastic, and yes I"ve double checked that they indeed do have the correct number.
