http://www.techsupportforum.com/networking-forum/n... SAME PROBLEM

Only difference is, my laptop used to connect to the modem, then I messed with it a little bit, trying to connect a wireless printer and now it wont work anymore. Signal strength is excellent. But it wont display any pages or anything of that sort,

Is the wireless turned on? I have a switch on my Toshiba laptop that has to be on, maybe you have something like that.

Go to the wireless internet icon (for me it is near my clock) and right click "view internet connections." Turn on or enable the connection you want.

If this doesn't work you may get some assistance from your internet provider. I have Verizon and they help me out when I screw up sometimes or when I get a new computer that I want to hook up. (No charge with Verizon 24/7.)

By any chance did you mess with your security key?

You can also use a hardwire connection from modem to computer.

See this Microsoft article on how to do it. But allow me to comment that by doing this you are giving up the great advantage of the laptop, its portability. A wireless PCI card or a USB adaptor are only around $20, and it would be a far cleaner solution. Your desktop could continue to be connected even if your laptop was out of the house.

you could try the windows restore point. I assume yours has that feature.

    hope this helps
