i travel alone often, i can't help re south korea as regards to places to visit but i can give u some general practical advise.

    1) to book flights www.momondo.com it will give you a route. if you do not live close to a major airport u can alternatively fly to one.. eg if u r in middleeast fly to dubai of turkey.. this obviously depends on your country of departure.

    2) before booking your hotels do research as to what the objective of your trip is going to be, if you want to just stay in seoul, how long, doing what?

    3) make a whole list and print a detailed mapof seoul and mark the places.

    4) choose hotel which is most central to wat u wish to do.

    5) arrange transport from airport to hotel prior departureso someone is waiting for you.

I plan to gothere in march, if it;s after that I will drop by some more tips

when traveling alone, 1) never tell anyone you are alone, say u here to visit a friend of family even if its not true.

    2) keep emergency numbers handy ie ambulance, police and driver if u intend to have one

    3) never carry all your moneyand credit cards together, make sure hotel room has safe and use it.

    4) if u won't hv driver keep number of a taxi company handy and a card of your hotel.. just in case you lose your bearings

make sure to dine like the locals, if is thebest way of experiencing their food and learn more about their culture

i know everything might sound obvious but i hope it helps

where are you from? visit your country's airline website.. or google cheap flight to Seoul... - airplane tickets done

Go to agoda.com to book hotel.. or even if you are under budget, look on couchsurfing.org.. that way you can have some friends, tour guides and great authentic life experience in korea...

Are you only visiting seoul or some other major city like Busan?

You can go to busan from seoul by train so no problems.. as I said, look on couchsurfing. best website to get great info from the locals.

How approximately one surprising reason in the back of a trip journey on an identical time as in South Korea? I strongly propose you taking the DMZ excursion at Panmunjom. that's an escorted excursion to the Demilitarized Zone, that separates South from North Korea. you will come head to head with North Koreans, who're knowledgeable from beginning to hate you, and could kill you without hesitation if informed to accomplish that. you will get Goosebumps dissimilar situations on an identical time as there. I easily have taken this excursion earlier; that is spooky !! yet, that is totally informative. once you're fortunate on the day you flow, you're starting to be the flexibility to stand on the North Korean area (interior) of the construction which held the Armistice talks. (that's approximately 12 ft interior North Korea, in basic terms previous the geographical thirty 8th Parallel.) you will consistently have North Korean Guards stare at you in the process the residing house windows, with organic hatred of their eyes. If the possibility provides itself, actually purchase for your self between the DMZ Barbwire Plaques. those have been issued on the fiftieth Anniversary of the initiating of the Korean conflict. confirm which you do get one with a serial variety!! i think they're going to replace into fairly effective as quickly as North Korea implodes upon itself.
