What does it mean when people talk about "Ratio" referring to fixie bike?

I remember a year ago but I forgot now & i just bought a fixie days ago.

so what do people mean when they talk about ratio?

please explain & thank you I really appreciate it.

    Most likely they are referring to gear ratio. That refers to how many teeth your chainring and cog has respectively. For example I ride a 46/16 ratio. Depending on your ratio the torque in turning your cranks change. A high ratio (For example 52/13) is for going faster (as on a velodrome) wherace a lower gear (For example 42/18) is better for hill climbing and tricking.

    If you buy in person buy some bearing grease the next time you go to the bike shop. Ratio is refering to the gear ratio. Google fixed gear and what ever you what to find.

    I think it is the gear ratio.
