How can i determine the number of clients that a server can handle?
The clients that i refer to are records. So, how can i calculate the number or records the server can handle or store. the server is just a desktop computer. Can it be determined?

maybe you should rephrase your question. depending on what OS you are running you have many options to determine how many times a client can access a server.
with windows server, Its typically based on how many CALS you purchase. If your on Open source, Linux, Fedora/Ubuntu, probably 1? (assuming you are using windows clients)
