I'm 18 and I once wanted a monroe. I can't honestly tell you what will happen. I now wouldn't want one, but when I was 16 I went and got my nipples pierced illegally and regretted it. But the great thing about piercings is you can take them out and let them heal if you regret your decision. No use worrying over scars, they have amazing medication for scars nowadays. I'd say let her do it when she turns 14 at least. It'll give her some time to think it over.

First I would make sure its legal in your state at that age. Here in Maryland any navel piercings done under the age of 16 are considered child abuse but I'm not sure about facial piercings. Call around to local piercing shops or tattoo shops to check about your local laws. I would think its likely that in a couple years if she waited she wouldn't want the piercing anymore. (at that age I wanted a whole row of piercings on my ears, years later I'm perfectly happy with double lobes and a single side cartilage)

Gosh, I'm 14 and i think that's kind of nasty! lol. isnt that the kind of piercing above the upper lip and makes you look like you have a mole? I'm pretty sure that's the kind. But to be honest if I were a mother I wouldn't let her do it. I wouldn't even let a friend do it. I find facial piercing kind of disturbing (in case you haven't noticed)

I personally think they look bad. BUT, I think it is the right decision to let her get it. It is her body and if you are uptight and try to control what she does .. she will go crazy when she turns 18...or will be stupid and pierce it herself and get lovely infections. Good parenting choice!

I think you should let her get a nose stud instead first cuz they are easier to pull off and more age appropriate.
