Question about hypnobirthing?

I am wondering how many of you have used hypnobirthing during your delivery? Which method did you use? Did it work? I am determined to have a drug-free pregnancy but also want to learn how to deal with the pain so I am not begging for drugs that in my heart I know I don't want. Any other tips you can also give me to help deal with the pain will be greatly appreciated.

Hi i also wanted a totally drug free labour and i went to hypnobirthing classes they we really good i used mind over matter and i had candles and music just use anything that helps you relax. The breathing techniques are fantastic they teach you how to breath so that your body does feel the pain in the same way. You have to get into you head that giving birth does not mean a painful experience and that worked for me! HOWEVER my best piece of advice is to go into the experience with an open mind including pain relief. I went through a 50 hour labour and my baby was sunny side up so i had excruciating back labour and although my hypnobirthing techniques worked really well i was told that if i didnt take some form of pain relief i would be so physically exhausted when i had to push that i would probably end up with a c-section, which i really didnt want. So i had an epidural and gave birth to my 9lb daughter (im only 5ft4 and a size 8) is relative peace and comfort. So it is an excellent idea but remember do what feels right dont put yourself through unnecessary stress for no reason, your baby doesnt care how they are born good luck x

  • In all honesty- I'm 19 years old, no I'm not pregnant and have never had a baby- But my fiance's mother has had 3 children, all naturally, and all with no drugs. She said they have not hurt her at all. Also my cousin and my friend have had drug-free deliveries with no pain- minimal pain. I am in the same category- I do not want drugs when i have a child either . The best way to deal with the pain would be to think of what could happen if you use drugs- such as an epidural. They can be bad for the unborn child, and when another friend of mine had an epidural, htey put it in the wrong way and partially paralyzed her while she was in hte middle of giving birth.

There are too many problems and risks with drugs.

Have you ever been using down a freeway then immediately, now not recognize in which the beyond 5 miles went? You surely had been using, and did not have an twist of fate, so that you had been paying concentration. But it used to be such as you zoned out for a couple of mins. That is style of like what hypnosis is, you're equipped to position, but in addition equipped to split your self out of your atmosphere. The caution at the cd is there on account that while that comfortable, men and women could go to sleep and the enterprise does not wish court cases for injuries brought on by means of falling asleep on the wheel. Think of hypnosis with the intention to be taught the right way to swiftly input a comfortable state and distance your self out of your atmosphere.

I used the Bradley method, which I think is somewhat similar to hypnobirthing. It worked great for me. I have had four Bradley births. You need to practice a lot in order for it to work.
