Does Jordan hate / envy Kobe?

Jordan knows that he is the best player, but why does he always hate on Kobe? He once said that there can be another Grant Hill and Kobe Bryant but not another Michael Jordan. If there can't be another Jordan, how can there be another of someone else? He also said that he could beat Kobe 1 on 1 if they were both in their primes. He may be right, but they never played against each other in their primes, plus you are playing a guy that can play just like you and might be better than you in some areas such as overall shooting. He also said that he wouldn't of allowed Kobe to score 81 points before fouling out. If I remember correctly, he dropped 55 points on Jordan and I doubt that he fouled out. Or is it that he gets compared to him too much and thinks that Kobe will overtake his spot.

Who cares ? Jordan doesn't envy Kobe . Kobe said the same about LeBron. It's not big deal it's just a competitive game.

MJ's psyche involves fierce competition and desire to use 'chips' on his shoulder of any kind, real or imagined, to make him what he was as a player. Kobe Bryant and Grant Hill are great players, and both would be HOF's (Grant's injuries probably derailed that), but players like Kobe and Hill are comparable to the Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, A.I' types (HOF great, but not MJ level). Let's put it like this. I think of Michael Jackson as the greatest music entertainer who ever lived. I can't think of anyone, not even Elvis, who ever matched his popularity and greatness. In that respect, If we ever have another Michael Jordan, the world will know it. Lebron James, no matter what, is for some strange reason in a league somewhere in between both categories. I think a player with his size and skill comes around once every 20-25 years, where as the other players (not MJ) come around every decade....

The Nba is getting ore and more talent every couple years. and the bar is set pretty high...MJ and kobe are just great to compare b/c they both dominate(d) in their time..IMO jordan is better, but i say that because jordan had less dominate teammates, less not not dominate, but less. Kobe won championships w/ Shaq and gasol...Both are great. I see it as Torch passing. one great SG to another..

I don't think Kobe can ever take Michael Jordan's fame and spot...both players are the dominant ones of their generation, but I believe there's a fine line between MJ and KB24. You have to consider that although Kobe dunked like twice from the free throw line...Michael Jordan did that everyday. Plus, Jordans are so much more successful than the sneakers Nike did with Kobe. Go figure.
