Jesus is the Savior of the world. If you found this out 5 minutes before your death, what would you do?

The Holy Spirit comes to you to inform you that you are not saved and If you do not ask for forgiveness in the next 5 minutes, you will end up in hell. You argue with the Holy Spirit for 3.5 minutes. Now, you finally realize that Jesus is Lord & Savior of the world. You remember that your grandmother shared with you the plan of Salvation before she died. She so wants to see you in heaven. This grandmother is the most precious grandmother in the world. Your Friends come up one minute before your time is up. They are standing there with alcohol & your favorite drugs. You only have time to talk to only one or the other, but not both. What will you do?

Jesus offers eternal life, anyone not concerned with their future is out of touch. We see salvation messages in all forms, maybe some will grab on and save themselves as learned from this scenario.

This probably would not happen. In 2 Peter 3:9 it talks about God's patience. He does not want anyone to be destroyed but to repent and turn around. This would take time. Accepting Jesus as your personal savior is not a quick emotional think that happens. John 3:16 Exercising faith takes time and it can be compared to a baby learning to walk and talk. It just doesn't happen.

Millions of people have died not having the chance to know God. That is why he promise a Resurrection in which they will get a chance to do so. John 5:28-28 Acts 17:30-31

Yes soon mankind will be resurrected to earth and be judged by Gods son to the way they react to him and God's laws.

After listening to both sides at each others throats for the past 50 years I agree with God to many false prophets spoils the relgion. As for heaven and hell and everything else that goes with it I will wait till I die to find out which due to congestive heart failure is in the near future. This does have a ring of truth to it.

The religious persecution of the ages has been done under what was claimed to be the command of God.

-- Susan B Anthony, from Rufus K Noyes, Views of Religion, quoted from James A Haught, ed, 2000 Years of Disbelief

I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires.

-- Susan B Anthony. In 1896, Susan B Anthony stepped down from the chair and addressed the National-American Woman Suffrage Association meeting when a resolution was offered to repudiate Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Woman's Bible. Aunt Susan's impassioned appeal was directed more at religious freedom and the rights of individuals.

That's a cleverly veiled ad hominem (or perhaps unintentional, but I doubt it, given the detailed nature of the hypothetical): "non-believers all drink and do drugs".

Sorry to burst your bubble, Judgmental Judy, but I drink very, very rarely (typically only when someone offers a toast - once every quarter-year or so?), and I've never smoked, shot up, or snorted any substance to get high.

To answer your hypothetical: I would rather burn for eternity than worship a god that condemns anyone to burn for eternity. Regardless of your claims of "free will", a god that "is love" cannot be loving if it does not offer its love freely, without restriction; that's the definition of unconditional love, if you bother to look it up.

Thanks for playing, but next time, try a little harder.

  • This scenario makes a lot of sense. Especially the part about my friends standing around with alcohol and my "favorite drugs" while I am laying there dying.

I would take a picture of the Holy Spirit, my grandma and my friends together using my digital camera. Then I'd check if there is anything but my friends in the picutre, because otherwise, I'm clearly delirious.

Why do Christians believe that all non-Christians are alcoholic drug users? Are you so blind that you really believe the only reason anyone would reject your religion is so that they can get high? Does your church want you to believe that there are no other reasons to reject its teachings?

Source(s): Atheist who is not an addict, not an alcoholic, not gay and has never had an abortion. There go all your silly stereotypes.
