how do I make new friends at my new school even I'm very shy?

I am going to transfer at a different school at a different country... I am afraid I will not make new friends because I am VERY shy. What should I do? And I am afraid of my appearance too.

Don't worry! :) Just relax. Try getting to know your classmates a little bit, maybe just a quick hi, or how's it going. Try finding similarities with them, so you know your not the only one who likes or dislikes something. I had to transfer to another school once too, so I know what your going through. :)

Im going to be honest it will be hard a little bit because your shy, but don't worry. My cosine trasferd from england to spain for at least a year. It will be hard because your new and from a different country but there's also a chance people will be interested about when you came from. Since your very shy Just make a few mates at first, you don't have to go there being outgoing ETC. Be yourself and im sure people will like you. If your afraid about your appearance don't be, people like people for there personality not what they look like and if your new mates want to help you with your appearance that will be a bonus.

One way to look at this situation is "a new beginning".

Being shy doesn't mean you can't be confident. I read once that one of the best ways to be confident is to act confident. I'm not suggesting you shouldn't be true to yourself because you should be true to yourself. There is only one you, so be true to it, and only you get to be that you.

So with regard to the "new beginning", take this opportunity to work on your confidence; no-one knows you so if you're not "acting shy", it won't be seen as "out of character".

Making friends; you want people to make friends with you because they genuinely want to be your friend rather than just to "fit in". Be yourself, cool, calm, collected. Light conversation works wonders. Be open to all rather than restrict yourself to a few cliques.

With regard to your appearance, i'm assuming you're just in the process of figuring out who you are, which moving to a new place gives you excellent opportunity to find out! There's nothing to be afraid of; once you have an idea of what you're into, what you like, just go with it! You'll quietly feel confident because you're wearing what YOU want and what YOU like so of course it will suit you because you'll look happy and relaxed in that!!

The best of luck for the move. Keep your inner strength and take care!

Wow....just like me, like i moved to a school like 2 months before the exams and i was freaking out! But when i went there (1st day) everything went well! All you have to do is be open, friendly, brave, take any help you are offered, and don't object yourself to ask questions! here is a little story to explain more:

There once was a potato. He was moving to a new school, and just like you he was very nervous! He went to the school with his parents to see how/where everything is so Potato wouldn't have any trouble. Then the next day, Potato was ready to finally go to his new school. He walked to his bus-stop, and while he waited he saw a few kids coming his way. When they got there they introduced themselves as Cherry, Banana, and Peach. They were really nice kids and Potato made good friends with them. When all of them got to school, he was invited to sit with his new friends and he didn't deny the invitation. Potato got through the day with the help from many of the students there such as Pear, Guava, Pineapple, Apple, and Orange! His was never alone because he was open, friendly, kind, he asked questions when he didn't understand, and most of all, HE WASN'T AFRAID!!!

You see, POTATO was a VEGETABLE! The others were FRUITS! Potato was different from ALL of them but he wasn't afraid, but he was open, friendly, and many more positive things!

What I am saying is DON'T BE AFARID! Just go out there and be who YOU ARE! People will love you for being you! I made like 50 friends on my first day! When you relax, chill, and take it easy, you will go with the flow!

Belive me, I know know how you're feeling. But with experiances like these, you won't be confused and scared in the future with same situations!

So just be yourself, be open, kind, friendly, brave, and don't say no to any help! If you get lost in the hallways (like I did for the WHOLE 1st week---I am crazy like that) then ask anyone passing by!

Hope I helped you (took 4ever 2 type this) and good luck in your new school! <3
