Premature babies, seizure like symptoms?
Hello everyone. Question is about a family's premature baby. It was born 2 months early, so its definitely premature, but far away from the boundaries of medical science. The baby was doing good, as far as premature babies do. It was hooked up to a machine to help with breathing.
My question is i just found out that the baby had seizure like symptoms last night. It tensed up and twitched. Its hard to tell if it is actually a seizure or not just visually, but it is in the hospital right now hooked up to machines waiting for another episode. I understand that premature babies have a very high chance of having motor complications the first few years of life, which could cause stiffness and twitching. Could it be anything other than either motor skill complications or seizures? Anyone out there have a premature baby that does this?
This is not my kid. I don't have any kids. And this kinda scares me because of the increase in premature babies, especially with this lady. She was extra cautious, no smoking no drinking, no lifting, no doing any hard activities, watched what she ate, no loud noises, etc and still had a premature baby.
Noie, thank you for the prayers. She is an exceptional mother. Her and her husband are one of the nicest people i know and they love their little girl deeply, and were happy when this baby boy came along.
I agree with you that eating whatever doesnt matter as much as we think, but science says otherwise so i dont know. I do know that my mom never watched what she ate with me, and smoked and i turned out perfectly healthy.

i don't think it has TOO MUCH to do with what a lady eats. i mean it DOES have something to do but the reason that the baby is premature can be for a completely different reason. when my mom was pregnant with me she could eat anything and drink and she wouldn't even throw up and i was not premature or anything. was there a full moon or something? i've read that it can cause those sorts of things. i wish that lady and her baby luck and will pray for it.
