Where can I download free music(rock and metal) without it messing up my computer?

Never use P2P or torrent.

There are several methods.

Here's what you do: type in the name of an artist or song in the text bar.

EXAMPLE: Say you type in "Rage Against the Machine." you find a forum and right click(unless you have a Mac of course) and click "Save Link As" or "Save Target As" depending on what browser you are using and select your file destination

2. The Easy Way: this only works if you have Winrar or 7-Zip or some other extractor.

Step 1: Go to google.com

Step 2: type in the name of the album followed by "mediafire" or "megaupload."

Step 3: Download

Step 4: Extract

Just use iTunes or similar LEGAL buy-a-download site! You ought to know that it is ILLEGAL to STEAL COPYRIGHTED music such as this by downloading/sharing/torrenting it for FREE! Would YOU work for 30+ years without getting paid?? I don't think so!!

They are all good and virus free. I would suggest using 4shared but it doesn't have the REALLY new songs. Roomp3 is complicated to use but once you get it straight it works perfectly. Beemp3 is really really good BUT your computer HAS to be up to date for it to work, and i mean up.to.date.

The Pirate Bay also works quite well but only if you want the entire album. Either way I recommend you use a good antivirus anyway. Just to be sure.
