In much of history, when a country invaded another, they killed every man, women and child.

    So there were no refugees.

There have been no cases in modern times, of one country invading another to gain land.

    In the case of Israel.

Israel ended up with the Golan Heights from Syria, Gaza and the Sinai from Egypt and the Westbank from Jordan, after being attacked by those countries.

You notice, the palestinians didn't own any of that land.

Syria refuses to sign a peace treaty with israel, so Israel will not return the Golan heights.

When Egypt made peace, israel returned the Sinai, egypt did not want Gaza back.

When Jordan made peace, Jordan had already given up claim to the Westbank.

The Palestinians who live in Gaza and the Westbank, have always refused to sign a peace treaty with Israel.

And in no war, has the winning side, ever returned captured territory, until the peace treaty was signed.

Right now a legal state of war exist between Israel and the Palestinians and Syria.

Short Answer.....YES.... In fact I can not think of a country that was not "stolen" from other people

Obviously America was stolen from "Native" Americans.....but then "Native Americans" stole it from the original inhabitants.... The Philippines was stolen from the Nigritos..... Australia was stolen from the Aborigines.... Japan from the Anise....England from the Pics..... Spain from the Basques ..... While some people like to point to the Palestinian vs Israeli conflict as the Jews stealing from the Palestinians...... that is not entirely accurate

The tribes of Israel were living in the territory known as "Palestine" for over 2,000 years.... this conflict between Arabs and Jews did not start with WW II..... the Hebron Massacre ( slaughter of Jews by Arabs) was in 1929s

.... Also, at least initially the Jews did not "steal" land.... they often bought it or settled on unclaimed land... in fact they had to invent new ways to make this unproductive land bloom again.... Initially the Jews offered Arabs a place at the table..... It was the Arabs refusing to join them that started this war

NO.....I am not Jewish..... just a student of history

EDWIN Tell me Edwin what is the difference in what the Jews did in the Six Day War (1967)..... and what every nation, including America , has done when they fought a war.... How do you think we got Puerto Rico?

Most of the USA was conquered from the native inhabitants, the Indians. After WW2 the United Nations was created to prevent a conquest from ever happening again, but after that there were sufficient border disputes where one party grabbed a strip of land from another party, best example being Israel who grabbed respectful pieces of land in 1967.

Yes, the entire situation between Israel and Palestine is a result of this.

War is the answer when negotiation fails.

If you have a dictator that's murdering people in the millions, do you think it's right to step in and go to war to stop the atrocities or to remain an isolationist nation and allow the murders to continue?

Source(s): It's a difficult decision for any nation.

I a word, yes. Most of us find it abhorrent but it does happen and the results are allowed to stand.

    Native american's and mexicans.

Not sure if you'd call that a war.
