Has anyone out there been so UNlucky as to have bed bugs intrude their home & HOW in the world did u conquer ?

Update:

Actually I got them on my couch. So I wrapped it all up in plastic, duct tape it and it is waiting on the garbage man. I have special spray from an exterminater that I used. I was also advised that 91% alcohol will kill the freaking little creepers, not the eggs or the ones you dont spray directly but apparently it helps with elimination. i threw away every couch pillow I had :( I just bought a couple of them... I tok ALL bed clothes to laundry matt and washed them in hot water, used bleach & also dried extra long on high heat. I vaccumed and emidiatly through away the vaccum bag in dumpster then sprayed the intire vaccume inside and out with spray.

Update 2:

actually having bed bugs does not mean your bed is dirty ! ANYONE can get the little freaks no matter how clean your house is !! They are hitch hikers and you might get them from a simple 'visit from a friend' ! Trust me !

You will get a lot of advice about seeking out the nooks and cranies of the carpet and mattress etc but there is something that I think you may not know; if, after you clean up the infestation, you spinkle epsom salts into the corners of your home then it will deter all bugs.

I think you will need to call an exterminator. They can kill the bed bugs with chemical sprays or with heat. You can get bed bugs from hotels, motels, staying at someone elses house, the apartment next door, etc. They get into your clothes in your suitcase and just move with you. Good Luck...I have heard they are really hard to get rid of.

YOU CANT DO THIS ON YOUR OWN. YOU NEED AN EXTERMINATOR. MAKE SURE HE HAS EXPERIENCE IN DEALING WITH BEDBUGS. FIRST YOU NEED TO TAKE EVERYTHING THAT CAN GO IN THE DRYER AND PUT IT ON HIGH HEAT FOR A HALF HOUR. AND I MEAN EVERYTHING-CURTAINS, LINEN, CLOTHING, STUFFED ANIMALS...YOU CAN TAKE TO LAUNDROMAT AND DO ALL AT ONCE. THEN EVERYTHING IN ROOM MUST BE VACUUMED AND TAKEN OUT ONE THING AT A TIME. THEN THE EXTERMINATOR CAN DO HIS JOB. ALSO, YOU SHOULD BUY SPECIAL MATRESS COVERS THAT ESPECIALLY PROTECT AGAINST BEDBUGS AND PUT THEM ON AFTER HE DOES HIS JOB. HE SHOULD COME BACK 2 WEEKS LATER AND DO A FOLLOW UP JOB. IF DONE RIGHT U WILL BE ABLE TO GET RID OF. I DID.

NO, but usually when you get bed bugs, is when your bed isn't clean. You would need clean sheets and clean pillow cases and don't eat in bed and bed bugs are weird looking.
