What can I do by myself to work on my volleyball skills?
I have no one to practice with, I just have a ball and wall to practice against. I'm not a beginner, but neither am I an expert. Does anyone have an idea of what I can do to work on my skills?

1. get close to the wall (about 2 or 3 feet away) and pass about 200-300 passes
2. stand right next to the wall and set 100
3. step back until you are about 6 feet away and pass about 100-200
4. repeat while setting
5. step back a few more steps and hit against the wall 25 times
6. hit against the wall and then dig the hit as it comes back to you 50 times
7. pass, set, and then tip (really work on getting low when you pass the tip) 25-50 times
8. pass, set, and hit (kind of softly, unless you have enough space to really hit hard) 50 times
9. pass, set, and then jump hit (still pretty softly) 50 times
repeat if necessary =]

setting: if you are a setter you should stand in front of a wall and set it up 10 times to the same spot. if you dont hit the same spot you can just try to get five.
bumping: if you are a bumper you should practice bumping the ball aginst the wall over and over keeping good form, or you could bump the ball to yourself and see how many you can get.
hitting: if you are a hitter you can practice your form and footwork, just do it in front of a mirror.
serving: if you are serving you should practice tossing the ball in front of a mirror and doing your form but not hitting it, or you could stand a couple feet away from the wall and serve it at the ground right in front of the wall.
hope i helped(:

well here's some things that might help...
Setting the ball- get about arms length from the wall and sett the ball up and hit it in the same spot over and over again.
Bumping the ball- stand about 6/7 feet away from the wall and bump it, try zig zaggin to get better foot work.
Serving the ball- get to the other side of the wall, but not to close, then keep hitting it in the same spot to improve your acracy. Hope i helped :] good luck. :]

as a volleyball player, i have learned many drills. here are some of them.
20s, 20s are different sets of passing & setting in place (can do by self or w/ partner)
1) regular passing- like a 2-3 foot above head, helps you have good arm and back posture
2)skyscrapers- which is high passes, helps u to use your legs to push off the ground for more power
3)shorts- which is short passes head high, helps with control
you can also do self timing of 30 second:
1) one arm (do it for right and left arm) passing for 30 second(closed fist, doesn't matter if it's palm down or up), helps with control, and when digging.
2) setting and then passing to self: set, pass, set, pass...etc.- helps with control, try to stay in on place while doing this drill.
hope these drills help you as it helped me.
:D

i just hit the ball against the wall and see how many times i can...like without lifting or anything just try to beat your highest score each time
another one is bumping the ball up to see how many times you can...like the previous suggestion but you don't use the wall
another is try like bumping it bakwoards to hit the wall then before it comes down you have to set it back and then bump it up and spike it! :D
hope it helpspsss

see how bounces u can keep the volleyball up for. this will help with ur speed as well as aim. do this and it will be like normal volleyball practice. Also, you will have to work out your muscles and stretch before you start anything like any other sport! :)
hope this helps

Just practice bumping and setting. I would do a bump-set-spike drill (without the spike). Just bump then set then bump then set, etc. Do it either against the wall or to yourself.

hit it against a wall, hit it again, again, and so forth. Thats what i did with pitching and thats how i worked on my wrist shot for hockey.
