Is it legal to buy handmade beads and use them to make jewelry if I plan on selling them?

I want to sell my handmade hemp jewelry but I dont have resources to make my own beads. Is it legal to go on etsy.com, order handmade beads from the person who made them and then turn around and sell them on my jewelry? I feel like I would need to give the seller a cut of profit, but If I bought them is that still neccessary? Im obviously not a lawyer...help

I don't buy handmade jewelry. I would rather see real gemstones on myself and gold. Sorry. I think the whole handmade jewelry thing is kinda out. Oh I know a hippie that still wears it.

You can buy beads and semi precious stones, or Zirconiums from Asia fo cheap.

There's a quite decent free 62 page book on running a bead jewelry business I would recommend, the catch, he wants to sell you on his inventory management software.

I believe attorneys generally offer 30 minutes free consultations. Utilize it and be certain what the legalities are. There may be none since the beads are being modified.

Your beads are supplies that you purchased to operate. It is perfectly legal. You need supplies to have a product, any business does. They usually purchase from a wholesaler of some sort, but where an how you obtain your supplies is no concern to the law (unless you stole it LOL). Hope this helps and don't worry about it!

I'm pretty sure its legal but you might want to ask the bead maker if they're ok with it.
