What could be the issue with my heater/4x4 selector switch?
I have a 2000 S-10 Blazer that my cousin tried to hook up fog lamps to. When he ran the power wire, he hooked it to the 20 amp HVAC fuse in the fuse panel in the truck. When he shut the door it pinched the wire and ground it out. Now the heater controls dont work and the 4x4 selector switch is inoperative. I looked at the HVAC fuse he hooked it to and that is good, the HVAC fuse under the hood is good. Is there a fuseable link or a circuit breaker that has burned/tripped? If there is where would they be? Or what can you think of? Thanks
This is driving me nuts. I found the ATC fuse, its good. I have a feeling its a fuseable link but I am not positive. Ugh, I miss points and condensor days.

check the under hood fuse panel for a fuse labeled ATC that's the one that's for power to the switch on the dash, i had my 99 blazer in four wheel low when the lights on the switch went out and i couldn't change out of 4WL, no mention of the fuse in the manual and everything else that made sense as a fuse for the 4w seemed fine, finally after looking online for near 2 hrs i came across a reference to the ATC fuse, low and behold ATC stands for Automatic Transfer Case, i replaced the fuse and was back in business
on the heater one there may be a fuse labeled TCV, for Temperature Control Valve
on that one i cant be sure
sorry

have you checked all the other fuses you will probably have to retrace the work he's done for other shorts
