If you found the perfect jacket, would you pay extra in it was a North Face?

I'm just curious, is the style and quality important? Or is it just the name that is important? I've seen an awful lot of good quality clothing, but if it's not a name brand, it seems like it's worth less.

If I found the perfect jacket, I would have to decide if the price they wanted for it was worth it. You're the only one who can decide if that particular jacket fits your criteria and will be warm enough for the place you're planning on wearing it.

Are you really paying "extra"? Price isn't always a reflection of the item! I purchase a jacket from Cabela's back in 1990! I'm still wearing that jacket today! I believe I paid about $40 for this jacket. I have worn it for fall and spring wear when the temperature is 40 to 50 degrees. It's my favorite! Other jackets at that time period were likely $20 or so. Now the $40 for this jacket seemed a bit high at the time and I can assure that I have purchased other styles of similar weather jackets in the $25 - $40 range since this Cabela's jacket and have replaced them with regularity after several years of use. The Cabela's jacket is still going strong after all these years. Right now it figures out to have cost me $2 per year to wear this jacket. I remember thinking at the time that I could buy two jackets for the price of just this one! I'd say without a doubt that this jacket was worth more than the $40 paid for it! Of course back then a lot of items were still made in the USA and Canada. ( This Cabela's jacket was made in Canada ) They were quality items! Now a lot of items are from countries I have a hard time pronouncing! I'd still say the style and quality are important. If you don't like something then you likely won't use it much. Much of the "name brand" stuff now days is made in these same overseas countries, but at least some companies like Cabela's and North Face require higher standards than normal for stitching and materials than some. Like the old saying goes..."You get exact what you pay for"!

No. Most stuff like that, you're just paying to wear the name of the brand. It has nothing to do with the quality of it.

I stopped caring about brands a couple years ago. Obvioulsy, some brands make very good quality clothes, but I don't care about the tag. That's just superficial.

I would because 98% of the time cost=quality. North Face is the best.

if i was buying a brand name clothing it had to be good material and worth the money.

and i would not because it doesnt matter to me about the brand name in jackets, but north faces are nice i like them they really keep you warm

i love northface. i love the quality as well as the brand (:

i think that name brand makes it look more expensive, but thats just my opinion.
