I have a hardrive question?
I tried to replace a 7.5 hardrive that has 98 on it to a computer, with a used 40 Gb hard drive that has xp on it, What I found out is that my hard drive was messed up. Can I take the 7.5 Gb and put in the 40 gb hard drive computer and would it work???

Your computers have different boards and other units on them you can switch them but you will need to re do them formatting and install the os,

Windows 98 probably wouldn't recognise a 40gb hard drive, so no it would not work.

Sure. As long as the hard drive doesn't use any old obsolete conections that your computer doesn't have it will work fine. You will have the same Win98 you know :)

XP installs according to the hardware on the machine, so I don't think it'll work.

If you have the XP disk, wipe the 40GB and install it clean and see if that helps.
