Will a car's performance ever be the same after a major accident?
My friend got into an accident in his beautiful porsche...unfortunately it was really bad driving conditions and he needed to be somewhere and his wife had their main car. Anyways, basically it was a front end collision with a guard rail...the headlights n hood are messed up and theres slight dents in the passenger corner due to the bending of the hood. The radiatior is basically gone and I think some of the transmission lines are busted. I was wondering after this gets repaired, will it ever be up to its jolly ol performance?

Depends on the damage. If the frame, body and any drive train parts were damaged it will have an effect on the car. I worked for a Ford and a Chevy dealerships years ago and drove many cars that were severely damaged after they've been repaired and some were ok and others drove like crap. Sure after the body work the cars looked good, but some as I said had problems and ran like garbage after. So again it depends on how severe the damage was.

That become kinda interesting to ascertain... thank you for the question! it incredibly is probable elementary for you all to appreciate what 3 hundred and sixty 5 days i become born in!! LOL

As a mechanic.... yes you can probably get the car to drive the same if you do it right, spend all the money and truly replace all the parts but if you take it to a shop and they decide something looks ok even though it needs replacing eh may or may not be the same.... its hit or miss..... probablly wont be as good as before but could be ok.... but if your driving a porsche your rich go buy a new one......

Well if its a Porsche, the engine should be in the rear, unless it's a Cayenne or Panamera. Front end damage should effect the engine if it was in the rear. If the engine is in the front, then yes, the car will never be the same. Close, but never the same.
