EDIT- you actually can get a well trained horse in 2 months if the horse already has a good foundation, and just needs to be taught the specifics of WP. its not impossible. and most trainer would say that they can't do it in that amount of time so that they get the horse for longer & get more money out of the person. it also doesn't take years to get a great WP horse, have you ever seen the 3 yo classes? those horses only have about 6-8 months of training, not years. and they are just about perfect.

Um, yeah. Sorry. No decent trainer is going to give you a "slower, more collected, more responsive, slower loping" horse in 30-60 days. Not one trainer.

I really don't understand why people want to rush their horse's training so much.

1. Depend on how in/out of shape your horse is, it can take a trainer easily a month to get them in good enough shape that they can really work on them.

2. It takes horses years to learn how to round up and collect themselves.

3. It takes horses years to learn how to slow down correctly (by responding to light cues slowly while staying round, not just slamming down into a slower speed.

4. You can't always make horses more responsive. Some horses are just too lazy to ever be even remotely responsive.

So why you think you can smash 4 years of training into 30-60 days, I don't understand. It's people like you that cause trainers to leave spur marks on horses- you pressure trainers to get everything down in a ridiculous amount of time, then get upset with them when they don't get everything you want accomplished, while not even considering the horse's ability, and what can reasonably be accomplished by your deadline.

EDIT: I just love how you jump to conclusions, without even bothering to read what I'm typing. I didn't say your horse had spur marks. I said that if you pressure your trainer into get results right now, your horse will have spur marks, because the trainer is trying to produce results at the speed that you want. Also, yeah, sure, you can get a responsive, well trained horse. I never said you couldn't. I said that you can't get a responsive, well trained horse in 2 months, without raising some serious questions about how your horse was treated.

Please, if you're going to get all defensive and shout at people, at least know what you're talking about before hand ;)

Yes, of direction. The rationale of a individual instructor is to appear on the flaws of the person and factor out the corrections wanted and individual running shoes will also be simply as ignorant of their possess flaws because the relaxation people.
