Biggest Fantasy Football Busts of the Decade?
Who would you say is the biggest fantasy busts of the decade?
This is excluding players whose lack of production was due to being injured (ala Tom Brady in 2008) because that's not really the fault of the player or the owner who drafted that player.
Matt Forte this year would get my vote considering he was a HIGH first round draft and finished with only 828 yards rushing and 4 TDs despite playing every game. Owners spent a 3rd or 4th overall pick for a player who essentially wasn't even worthy of starting except in very favorable matchups. (Subtract Forte's stats from the DET, CLE, and STL games and see how pitiful they are.) I had Forte in one of my fantasy leagues and I benched him for the playoffs despite the league having 3 starting running backs and my third best running back Kevin Smith getting injured right before the playoffs. It's a pretty good indication of a bust when they aren't startable in the playoffs despite being healthy.
The closest bust to Forte that I can think of was Shaun Alexander in 2007. Alexander finished with 716 yards and 4 TDs, but his lack of production was partly because he did miss 4 games with injuries and I seem to recall Alexander in 2007 was more of a mid first round pick rather than a high first round pick like Forte. Thus I would give the edge to Forte this year.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some good busts though, especially earlier in the decade.
Horse Butt, I'm asking about fantasy busts not NFL draft busts.
I'm talking about any year in the decade, not just this year. I think Forte is probably hard to beat this year.

I think you have some of the biggest busts in your list already, atleast for RB's. How about Chad Johnson, Marvin Harrison, Carson Palmer, Phillip Rivers. If you are looking for expectation wise you could put LT on the list because everyone was expecting a repeat from last year and he is not even close.

i dont know if you can call it a bust or just a degeneration of value, but what about LT the past few years? Sure he still puts up decent numbers from time to time, but most leagues still place him as a high first round pick. I just dont see him as being that useful anymore, considering the Chargers have become Philip Rivers team
