What do I have to do after making the Army promotion list?
I went to the E-5 promotion board on Dec. 2. I have 697 promotion points and my MOS is currently at 577. My name showed up on the promotion list for Jan 1. What do I do now? Does that mean I get my E-5 on Jan 1 or what?

Congrats, answers 2 and 3 are both correct. You can not pin on your rank however, until it is done by your unit. Should be the 4th, since block leave is running through the 3rd.

Yes you get to officially wear your E5 rank on the first of jan. when your company makes a formation for everybody and your 1SG and CPT make a speech, give you your certificate, and your SSG, SFC and 1SG will possibly "punch" it on your chest as most traditional units do. Kind of a way to honor becoming an NCO :D
