Why would a theist email me with questions and then choose not to receive emails?

Please don't think I'm foolish, I have a great many suspicion, but I'm curious what you think. A Christian emailed me in response to one of my answers. Despite the implicit insults, I sent them a response clarifying my point. I then received a couple additional email where they wished to debate the finer point because they were certain

A) They were more intelligent

B) They could out debate me

C) I was wrong

In fairness, I didn't care to continue the conversation, as I've seen how that usually goes, but I was prepared to send a response explaining the error in their opening volley. However, when I went to reply this morning, I discovered that the user had switched to not accepting messages.

Now, I'm just wondering, why would someone with a vastly superior intellect (they referred to me as a moron), years of work in the field of inquiry, stellar debate skills (so they alluded), and incontrovertible evidence in their favor (at least in their mind) suddenly shut off communication?

Am I really that scary?

Because some people are so cowardly that they run off with their tails between their legs even when cloaked in the anonymity of the internet.

Posting a question about it only makes them believe that they've got under your skin. I've had countless people block me simply for disagreeing with them, despite being polite in my response, and I've found that the best way to deal with it is to shrug and go on with your day. Why waste any more time on someone who is so closed-minded that they can't even handle hearing someone else's opinion?

Maybe they were tired just like you were so they quit you first. I don't know. Don't be insulted though. We're all human whether we're believers or unbelievers. I like a good debate but after a while it just seems pointless and boring over the internet. Face to face is better.

That's immaturity plain and simple, it's not a coincidence that the person has chosen to be christian, some people just can't handle truth. It's really silly to say something to someone, especially if it could be perceived as confrontational and then sprint away with your fingers in your ears making silly sounds just because you won't deal with something. Ah well. I've had that happen too.

I know it's not all Christians, just most of them.

Isn't it amazing how we allow people on this site to get into our minds? Their reasons for switching are theirs, your reason for asking is yours.. don't let anyone upset you.

Please forget about this, and continue trying to keep yourself better-informed about religion.

    All the very best.

I've had two atheists do the same to me.

My sample is twice as large as yours. Shall I draw similar conclusions? Would those conclusions be more valid?

Don't know, probably just to get you upset or something silly like that

lol - I asked this question yesterday (do I scare you? I'm Catholic) and my question was deleted. I think YA is full of atheists.
