Recreant- father of fairies
Why would a theist email me with questions and then choose not to receive emails?
Please don't think I'm foolish, I have a great many suspicion, but I'm curious what you think. A Christian emailed me in response to one of my answers. Despite the implicit insults, I sent them a response clarifying my point. I then received a couple additional email where they wished to debate the finer point because they were certain
A) They were more intelligent
B) They could out debate me
C) I was wrong
In fairness, I didn't care to continue the conversation, as I've seen how that usually goes, but I was prepared to send a response explaining the error in their opening volley. However, when I went to reply this morning, I discovered that the user had switched to not accepting messages.
Now, I'm just wondering, why would someone with a vastly superior intellect (they referred to me as a moron), years of work in the field of inquiry, stellar debate skills (so they alluded), and incontrovertible evidence in their favor (at least in their mind) suddenly shut off communication?
Am I really that scary?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoConcerning free will (see details)?
Yesterday I asked when free will begins. Though the sample was small, it did provide some interesting results. The majority response from monotheists was that free will begins sometime after birth.
See here for the results http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ajw9V...
Now, considering that detail, I have further questions
Is free will an essential characteristic of humanity?
If yes, what does this say about those that do not yet have free will?
If no, what effect does this have on the "free will defense" of theodicy?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoJews, Christians, & Muslims, when does free will begin?
All are welcome to answer, but I address this specifically to the monotheistic triad for the bearing it has on their doctrine.
When does free will begin? At birth? Conception? Before?
Also, any justification for your stance would be welcome.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCreationists, can you explain something for me?
Can you explain goosebumps?
Evolution provides a concise and logical explanation, but I was curious as to your take on the subject.
What, exactly, is the purpose of goosebumps in our design?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists, I'm sure you've all heard the "atheism can't account for the laws of logic argument...?
I just wanted to know what you think? I have my own response, but I will withhold it so as not to influence anyone.
If you haven't heard it check here: http://www.carm.org/atheism/logic.htm
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSpiritually speaking, how does it affect your interactions with a person if you think they are inherently evil?
If you act under the assumption that a person is inherently evil/bad/unwholesome, how does that affect the way you interact with them?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists, should I stop where I am?
I just checked my profile and apparently I have answered 666 questions. Should I stop now just to give the Christian something to talk about?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoR&Sers, consider my rock...?
I have before me a rock. I say that it is my rock because I designed it. I have designed it, in fact, to appear in all respects as a natural rock. Go out and find a rock and you will have a decent example of how my rock might look, feel, smell, sound, and, for you freaky people, taste.
Now, if I took my rock and mixed it in with 99 rocks gathered at random from nature, how would you determine which one is my rock?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoStigmata against philosophy?
I recently conducted a survey to get peoples view on philosophy. Overwhelmingly, the response was bad. People had little or no exposure to the subject and often felt that it was "stupid." They were so put off by it, that they said they would categorically refuse to investigate it further. So my question is, why? What is seen as so repugnant? Is there something in the subject itself or do you think it is due to other factors?
9 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoIs this a reasonable definition of science?
In a general sense, science is the methodology concerned with the discovery of facts and their classification into a coherent, integrated system.
The definition of a particular science (biology, etc.) is determined by which aspects of reality it seeks to understand
4 AnswersOther - Science1 decade agoA question for atheist s can think wide how could you teach natural selection 3000 years ago?
I mean you, personally. What's up with the time machine development. We're getting seriously behind schedule.

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCan man be greater than 'God'?
Think carefully. Is there any aspect or characteristic in which man can be "more than god." (e.g. more loving, etc.)
30 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoProof of life after death?
Christians, I have wonderful news.
Recently, I had a background check done so that I could obtain some security clearances for my job. The agency doing the check guaranteed "An accurate record of the last 12 months of your life." When I received the results, I noticed that it didn't include my most recent address. In fact, it seems to have stopped approximately 5 years ago. Since it was "An accurate record of the last 12 months of your life," it is clear that I died 5 years ago and have been existing in some sort of afterlife since then.
What say you?
