I'm going to be one of the few to respectfully disagree with most of the others on here and say that Walcott would have defeated Ken Norton despite the size difference and for one main reason and that is Jersey Joe Walcott was a great boxer and also could punch harder than most give him credit for. He was also very durable and tough. Walcott was a very tricky fighter and a devastating counter puncher as he showed in battles with guys like Charles, Marciano, and Louis. Despite the size advantage by Norton, I just cannot see him outboxing or outslugging Walcott though he had a deceptive jab and an awkward crab like cross armed style. Walcott was good at moving around the ring and would have outboxed Ken. Norton would have fought hard and had some good moments in the fight but would have probably got knocked down during the course of the fight as he didn't have the best chin as we all know as well. Norton was great against Muhammad Ali because Ali could never figure out his style but Walcott would have and won by a relatively close unanimous decision in my opinion.

Hey James! Great to see you back bro!

This is an interesting fight! Ken Norton was a great heavyweight who is well known for breaking the jaw of Muhammad Ali and actually winning on the process. Ken Norton of course went on a rematch and a trilogy only to lose two close disputed split decisions against Ali. Regardless this proved that Norton was a beast. He had great stamina, great jabs (both offense and counters), and had decent offensive prowess.

Joe Jersey Walcott was a spectacular fighter who was a champion multiple times even until the age of 37. Jersey Walcott of course is known for his disputed loss to Joe Louis and until today many experts believe Walcott should have won. But in a rematch Joe Louis knocked out Walcott. Walcott had tasted several sour defeats, including against Charles (twice) and Marciano (twice). However, Walcott did beat Charles twice.

Ken Norton has a huge size advantage against Walcott who is considered to be a very small heavyweight, who has the akin physical attributes as Jack Dempsey. Norton easily outweights Walcott by at least 20-30 pounds. I also give the strenght advantage to Norton while I see Walcott a bit more technical. In the end, this is a fight that is hard to analyze by I would say Ken Norton wins this fight by a 13th Round KO. If Walcott somewhat survives the latter rounds, I see Norton winning via a convincing unanimous decision.

Ken Norton was a physical heavyweight but not a great puncher. He had a solid jab and was actually able to outjab the great Muhammad Ali and break his jaw in their 1st fight, winning a close decision, and lost both subsequent rematches by close decision. Norton's biggest problem was his propensity to freeze when facing a big punchers, with his disaster against George Foreman the most obvious example. Against fighters, not known as devestating punchers like Ali and Larry Holmes, Norton fought with much more confidence.

Jersey Joe Walcott was a slick boxer with good defensive skills, footwork, and quick hands. While not particularly a powerful puncher, he had good snap in his left hook and could catch opponents off guard, hence his one-punch KO over Ezzard Charles and flash knockdown of Rocky Marciano.

In a matchup between them, I feel that Norton's strength and physicality, along with his strong jab would neutralize Jersey Joe. Norton wouldn't freeze against Walcott. In more of a chess match, Norton would control the distance and outwork Walcott, winning a unanimous decision.
