Diarrhea after switching from formula to whole milk?

Hi. I just switched my 13 month old from formula to whole milk-he's taking it good and the doctor warned me he may get constipated because of it. But he has the opposite.....diarrhea that is a light lime green color ( sorry not to disgust you-just want to give all facts )

So does this mean he's allergic or what does it mean? Thanks so much in advance!!!!

He may just not be adjusting to it yet. You need to slowly transfer over to allow time for his body to adjust. But I will say my 15 month old gets diarrhea from it and also started getting sores so I switched to soy milk. It could be a milk allergy or a lactose intolerance or it could just be his body trying to adjust only time will tell.

diarrhea that looks like melted lime jello and may also be foamy or even explosive is a sign of lactose sensitivity.

try switching him to full-fat milk direct from a single-source farm within 100miles of your location unless raw milk is legal in which case you'd be better with that.

failing that, put him on lactose-reduced or even lactose-free milk and see if that eases things up a bit.

you could also try adding yoghurt to his diet - give him a serving of active-culture yoghurt about an hour before you give him the milk.
